Capital Jazz Fest

Design Goals

The client

Capital Jazz Fest is an annual jazz music festival held in Washington DC. It is an outdoor festival that was started in 1993.

The challenge

Their website and marketing collateral are outdated and not speaking to their target audience.

The solution

The goal of this rebrand was to create branding collateral that will appeal to a younger generation of festival goers and encourage them to purchase tickets.

Poster Series

The poster series was also created using Adobe Illustrator and would be used to advertise the festival as well as the set list.

Logo Design

I began by focusing on the logo and created it using Adobe Illustrator. 

The options for a horizontal and vertical logo make it more versatile depending on the composition of the deliverable. Both fonts convey a tone of voice that is playful and creative.

Advertising Brochure

I then created an advertising brochure using images from past Capital Jazz festivals. 

The brochure includes clear and concise information about the festival. I made sure to include information about accessible seating arrangements to ensure that all audiences would be represented equally.
